Science e- Project, by Mario, María & Ana

We have chosen a blog for showing the progress of our e-project. The name of the blog is Breaking Science because we liked the idea of linking our blog name with the famous American series Breaking Bad, which is related to Science.
In the blog we have different links, information and widgets. We also have a summary about our class activities such as webmixes, videos and comics about us, etc.
We have twitter and a facebook accounts where we are going to show you news and multimedia information. We are glad for your comments because they motivate us as a team and as teachers.
We want you to enjoy at the same time as we do the e-project and because of that we will update the blog every single week with news.
Please, stop… learn English and Science!
The link is the following one: http://breakingthescience.blogspot.com.es/

Book ME-Library Resources by @jdtearse

Thanks to @jdtearse for sharing this webmix with resources to include into a mobile library for Primary bilingual kids. These are the reasons why he has chosen Symbaloo:

'Found Symbaloo to be easy to use, plus, liked how many different colors you can use to fill your page (including background images). Fun to use for children and adults alike. Does update a bit slowly (had to refresh the page sometimes to see changes).
I don't know if I'd use this for my personal use as it takes up quite a bit of space, and only provides so many links at once, but I really like the feature that you can upload your own images; so maybe that makes it easier to find the links themselves. Give and take. Hope you enjoy!'

Resources for Art and Music by @leyre_cuervo

@leyre_cuervo has decided to use Symbaloo to start organising her resources for Art and Music. She explains why:

'This is the link to my webmix. I have chosen Symbaloo because I have found it an easy and visual tool where you can add all the web sites you like and have all of them in one unique site. It also allos you to create different desktops for different webmixes.

I have called my webmix "Resources: art and music", because these web sites are going to be part of my e-project about art and music.I have divided my webmix in four different corners:

-Games

-Videos

-Especific interesting tools for my e-project.

-Generals tools I have used in my e-project.'

Kids' World, by @andre5590

Thanks to @andre5590 for sharing this webmix and her thoughts:
'This is the webmix I have compiled. I have chosen Symbaloo because it lets me add the links I am interested in and I can change the way of presenting them (chosing logos and naming them). It is very easy to organize the different items.'

Art & Music at School. A webmix by @Cristina_RubioC

@Cristina_RubioC has created a lovely webmix to start gathering resources for the e-project she is designing with other peers at URJC about Art & Music.

These are her reasons for choosing Symbaloo:
'I have used Symbaloo because it is easy to use, and it is a very visual tool that allows you to collect interesting websites and organize them as you prefer.'

Thanks for sharing!

Platero in handy

2014 is the year to commemorate two special anniversaries: 100 years since 'Platero and I' by Juan Ramón Jiménez was first published, on one hand, and on the other hand, four hundred years since El Greco was born.

Shall we introduce El Greco to Platero and arrange a creative educational meeting?

That's our goal at Platero in handy (Platero que ni pintado), and to accomplish it we are proposing that the characters in El Greco's paintings tell the story of Platero, becoming real storytellers.
The idea comes from @inmitacs, a Spanish Arts teacher interested in ICT, Education and Challenges, who has previously founded and taken part in other collaborative projects, such as Queremos Musicarte.

At URJC we are accomplishing this goal and we'll be flooding the classroom with Art and Literature. Are you going to miss it?
I invite you to accomplish this goal too, as part of the 30 Goals Challenge for Educators on its 2014 world tour. I am happy to be your Inspire Leader for this part of the journey, when the tour lands in Spain once more.

Accomplish this goal:

Option A:
  • Choose an extract, dialogue, or chapter of Platero and I which can be narrated.
  • Choose a character from one of the paintings by El Greco.
  • Encourage your students to record a podcast or a videoclip so the creative meeting between the narrator and Platero takes place.
  • Or, get them design their comics. Any creation goes as long as some part of Platero and I is being told by a character in one of the paintings by El Greco.
Option B:
  • As students in Spain introduce you to our Literature, Culture and Art by accomplishing their goal, why don't you try and accomplish the goal too as teachers and them extend the accomplishment in your own lessons?

    Reflection
Promoting the interaction between several subjects, across various languages and countries, as well as working with key competences is an essential part of any collaborative project that aims at bringing Languages and Cultures together.
By accomplishing a goal like this you will be able to foster Language skills, Communication skills, Writing, Arts and ICT skills. You will also get yourself and your students connected with other peers in the world and introduce them into Spanish Art and Literature, giving them the chance of becoming world digital citizens.

    Resources

    Greco App (Android)
    Comic Maker App (Android)

Thank you for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed your stay.

Thanks ever so much to Platero que ni pintado Project!
